HARRISON – A 44-year-old Clare County inmate died Friday, July 9, reported Sheriff John Wilson Saturday morning.
Ronald William Ross, Spring Lake, died after cutting a main artery in his arm, said Wilson, who indicated that Ross was being held on parole violations, concealing stolen property and weapons charges.

HARRISON – Superintendent Tom House had his salary capped in the budget for fiscal year 2010-11 that the Board of Education approved at a special meeting June 28.
The superintendent’s salary stands at $101,646 for a third consecutive year.
According to business manager Jacob Sullivan, administrators are looking at a salary freeze for themselves.

HARRISON – The Clare County Sheriff’s Department recently has been fined $650 for civil contempt of court for failure to return weapons to the owner, The Clare Sentinel has learned.
