Dear Editor:
“There are times that try a man’s soul.”
Passing by the Clare Library, I came upon a rental truck full of plants.
I’m sure they were not bought in our local nurseries, but were paid for with our local taxes.

Dear Editor: I disagree with the decision to hire Tim Moore as the Farwell Elementary School principal. If he has to be brought “up to speed,” he is not qualified. And, by resigning his post early, he is saying to the voters that elected him, “Thanks, but I’ve got a better offer now.”

Dear Editor:
On June 10th, our beloved family pet walked out a door that was ajar in our home and out of our lives. We have done everything in our power to find him. “Christmas” is our rust and white colored, 12 year old Shih Tzu and we’ve been owned by him since he was a [...]

This letter is for anyone who doubts that there are helpful and unselfish people left in a
world that promotes a “me only and me first” attitude.
On Tuesday, May 5th, as my husband and I were driving home, we discovered that we
had a flat rear tire. Seemingly no big problem in a world with so [...]

As a CPA who works for a (Trumball) Board of Education in Connecticut I do not
understand the value of posting the check register on line. Tell me what
good has come out of this effort. I am reluctant to post financial
information on line or distribute same without some type of explanation.
Why is the distribution of [...]

Dear Editor,
On April 14, 2009, I wrote to the Clare Board of Education and asked that the
board agenda and minutes on their Web site be brought up to date and the board member
packets used at board meetings be put online prior to the board meetings. Most
importantly, I requested that the checkbook register be placed online.
I [...]

Dear Editor:
With fact known of facing budget cuts in the future. The (Clare School) Board should consider cuts that do not abolish non-mandate and curriculum/sports/ transportation/Para pros/ and technology. We are living in a drastically changing economy. In order to meet budget in the future, the cuts must be made starting from the top!!

Dear Editor:
Okay - so what you’re saying is that by showing employees that they are worth investing another five years is not okay?
They are doing a good job, but only to the tune of another one or three year contract?
To me that says - okay, they think I’m doing okay, I need [...]
